ਇਸ ਸੂਚੀ ‘ਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਇਮਰਾਨ ਖਾਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਜ਼ਿਆ-ਉਲ-ਹੱਕ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ‘ਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਪਰਤਿਆ। ਇਮਰਾਨ ਨੇ 1987 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। 1988 ‘ਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ‘ਤੇ ਖੇਡਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਲਈ 1992 ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਜਾਵੇਦ ਮਿਆਂਦਾਦ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ 1986 ‘ਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਆਖਰੀ ਗੇਂਦ ‘ਤੇ ਛੱਕਾ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਚ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਸੀ। ਜਾਵੇਦ ਨੇ 1996 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਤਤਕਾਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬੇਨਜ਼ੀਰ ਭੁੱਟੋ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ‘ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਪਰਤ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਸਾਬਕਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਜਗਵਾਲ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਨਾਥ ਨੇ 2002 ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਸੌਰਵ ਗਾਂਗੁਲੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਨਾਥ ਅਗਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ‘ਤੇ ਹੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਨਾਥ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤਿਆ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਨਾਥ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਭਾਰਤ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਿਆ।
