ਡੈਸਕ- ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨੇ ਮੁਲਕ ’ਚ ਇਕ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਗ਼ੈਰਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ 1,100 ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਤਨ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਤੇ ਅੰਦਰੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਐਂਡ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਪਾਲਿਸੀ ਦੀ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਸੈਕ੍ਰੇਟਰੀ ਰੋਜ਼ ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਪ੍ਰੈੱਸ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਮੈਕਸੀਕੋ ਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦਾ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਹੋਮਲੈਂਡ ਸਕਿਊਰਿਟੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ’ਚ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਮੀਗਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਨੀਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਰੌਇਸ ਬਰਨਸਟੀਨ ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘‘ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ 2024 ’ਚ, ਜੋ 30 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਮੁਲਕ ਨੇ 1,100 ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।’’
ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਪੂਰਾ ਵੇਰਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਸੂਬੇ ਦਾ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਹੈ। ਉਂਝ ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 22 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰਟਰਡ ਉਡਾਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ’ਤੇ ਉਤਰੀ ਸੀ। ਜਹਾਜ਼ ’ਚ ਕਰੀਬ 100 ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸਵਾਰ ਸਨ।
ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਕਸੀਕੋ ਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦਾ ਬਾਰਡਰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਵੀ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ’ਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਭਾਰਤੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੈਟਾਗਰੀ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ’ਚੋਂ ਕੱਢੇ ਗਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ ’ਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਾਲਗ ਪੁਰਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬੱਚਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਡਿਪੋਰਟ ਕੀਤੇ 1,100 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੱਰੇ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੈਕਸਿਕੋ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗ਼ੈਰਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ’ਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ’ਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਆਧਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵੀਜ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਪੁੱਗਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਵੀ ਮੁਲਕ ’ਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨਿਕਾਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਜੁਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਮੁਲਕ ’ਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚਾਰਟਰਡ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਮਰਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਜਹਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵੀ ਵਤਨ ਵਾਪਸ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
