ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਬੀਸੀਸੀਆਈ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ (ਕੋਹਲੀ-ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ) ਦੇ ਖੰਭ ਕੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਧੋਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ (ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ) ਅਤੇ ਰਵੀਚੰਦਰਨ ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਟੀ -20 ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਟੈਸਟ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਖੁਸ਼ ਜਾਂ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸਾਬਕਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕੁੰਬਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ (ਕੋਹਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਮਤਭੇਦ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋਏ), ਬੋਰਡ ਦਿਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੌਸ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਹਾਂ, ਲਕਸ਼ਮਣ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਕੁੰਬਲੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹਨ।”, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼. ”
