ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਈਸੀਸੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਟੈਸਟ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ। ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਕੋਚ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਦ੍ਰਾਵਿੜ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਲੇਇੰਗ ਇਲੈਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਸਪਿਨਰ ਆਰ ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੈਚ ‘ਚ ਨਾ ਖੇਡਣ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਆਈਸੀਸੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਟੈਸਟ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਭਾਰਤ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਫਾਈਨਲ ‘ਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਤਾਬ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਦਾ ਦਾਅਵੇਦਾਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਨੇ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ। ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਆਈਸੀਸੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਟਰਾਫੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਟੀਮ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਸਪਿਨਰ ਆਰ ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਟਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਟੈਸਟ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਕੋਚ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਦ੍ਰਾਵਿੜ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰੀ ਗਈ ਪਲੇਇੰਗ ਇਲੈਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡਣਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਮੁਕਾਮ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ‘ਚ ਮੇਰਾ ਵੀ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਸੀ।
ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਊਜ਼ੀਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਫਾਈਨਲ ‘ਚ ਚਾਰ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹੋ। 2018-19 ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਚ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਕਈ ਅਹਿਮ ਮੈਚਾਂ ‘ਚ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿਵਾਈ ਹੈ। ਖੈਰ, ਇਹ ਸਭ ਕੋਚ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਸਪਿਨਰ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਾ ਪਿਆ।
ਆਰ ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਬਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦਾ ਮੈਚ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਮਾਗ ‘ਚ ਇਹ ਖਿਆਲ ਆਇਆ। ਮੈਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਚਿਨ ਤੇਂਦੁਲਕਰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਜਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਣ, ਪਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਖਰਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੀ। ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬਚਕਾਨਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਜੋ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅਸ਼ਵਿਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਪਛਤਾਵਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਵਿਦਾ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ, ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਲੈ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਚੰਗਾ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੈਮਾਨਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
