ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ‘ਚ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਉਲਟਫੇਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਟੀਮ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ 2024 ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮੈਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਪਰ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਹਾਰ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਬਾਬਰ ਆਜ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਨਾਕ ਹਾਰ ਲਈ ਟਾਪ ਆਰਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਬਾਬਰ ਨੇ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਾਵਰਪਲੇ ‘ਚ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ। ਪਾਵਰਪਲੇ ‘ਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਗੁਆ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਾਬਰ ਰਿਜ਼ਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਠ ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਸਮਾਨ ਖਾਨ ਵੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਊਟ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਇਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਾਲ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਹੁਣ ਦੋ ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਜਿੱਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਰ ਅੰਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਥਾਨ ’ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਰ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਫੀਲਡਿੰਗ ਦਾ ਖ਼ਮਿਆਜ਼ਾ ਵੀ ਭੁਗਤਣਾ ਪਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ 10 ਵਾਧੂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ 20 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਸਨ, ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 14 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਹੀ ਬਣਾ ਸਕਿਆ।
