ਬੋਨੀ ਕਪੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਫਿਲਮ ਸੋਲਹਵਾਂ ਸਾਵਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਬੋਨੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ‘ਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤੀ ‘ਤੇ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਬੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਨਿਲ ਕਪੂਰ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਲਮ ਮਿਸਟਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਸਟ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ। ਇਸ ਸਿਲਸਿਲੇ ‘ਚ ਉਹ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਫੀਸ ਵਜੋਂ 10 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਬੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ-ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ 11 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਫਿਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਸਟ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਦੋਸਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ
ਫਿਲਮ ਮਿਸਟਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤਾਂ ਵਧ ਗਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਹੋਰ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਬੀਮਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਬੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਦਾ ਝੁਕਾਅ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵਧਣ ਲੱਗਾ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ। ਆਖਿਰਕਾਰ ਬੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮੋਨਾ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਾਕ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਦੇਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਲਿਆ।
