OTTAWA, FEBRUARY 25: Canada added 2,857 new cases of the COVID (novel coronavirus) on Wednesday, pushing the total number of infections in the country to 855,131.
Another 45 people have died after contracting COVID-19, health officials confirmed, pushing Canada’s death toll to 21,807.
To date, 802,931 people have recovered after falling ill, while 1,652,282 doses of the vaccines approved by Health Canada have been administered across the country.
Globally, 112,506,114 people have been infected with the coronavirus, according to the latest tally from Johns Hopkins University.
To date, the virus has claimed 2,494,705 lives worldwide.
