ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਯਾਨੀ ਦੀਦਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ‘ਚ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਈ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਇਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਐਕਟਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸਲ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ‘ਚ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ‘ਚ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ‘ਚ 53 ਇੰਚ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਅੱਜ ਬਰਸੀ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ‘ਚ ਆਓ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਸ ਗੱਲਾਂ।
ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ
ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 19 ਜੁਲਾਈ 1928 ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਜੱਟ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੂਰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਕੌਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਹੋਇਆ, ਭਾਰਤ ‘ਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਸੀ, ਦਾਰਾ ਇਸ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਵੀ ਸੀ।
ਕਈ ਤਕੜੇ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਟ ਧੂੜ
ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਕੁਸ਼ਤੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ। 1959 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ‘ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਮੰਡਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ’ ਬਣਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ‘ਬਿੱਲ ਵਰਨਾ’, ‘ਫਿਰਪੋ ਜਬਿਸਜ਼ਕੋ’, ‘ਜਾਨ ਡਾ ਸਿਲਵਾ’, ‘ਰਿਕੀਡੋਜਨ’, ‘ਡੈਨੀ ਲਿੰਚ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਸਕੀ ਹੀ ਲੀ’ ਵਰਗੇ ਤਕੜੇ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ‘ਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕੁਸ਼ਤੀ ਦਾ ਡੰਕਾ ਵਜਾਇਆ। ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ 500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕੁਸ਼ਤੀਆਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ 200 ਕਿਲੋ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜੀ
ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਵਿੱਚ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਸੰਗਦਿਲ’ ਸੀ ਜੋ 1952 ‘ਚ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਜੋੜੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਰਹੀ। ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਹਿੱਟ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਫੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿੰਗਕਾਂਗ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਭਗ 16 ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਬੀ ਗਰੇਡ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਫਿਲਮ ਲਈ 4 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਸਨ।
60 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨੂੰਮਾਨ ਬਣੇ
ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਮਾਇਣ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਫੀ ਪਿਆਰ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ੋਅ ‘ਚ ਅਖਾੜੇ ‘ਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਕੇ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਵੀ ਸ਼ੋਅਜ਼ ਵੱਲ ਰੁਖ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਹਨੂੰਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ‘ਚ ਛਾਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਖਾਸ ਗੱਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਬਜਰੰਗ ਬਲੀ ਦਾ ਰੋਲ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ 60 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ। ਹਨੂੰਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਸਨ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ 1976 ‘ਚ ਆਈ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਬਜਰੰਗਬਲੀ’ ‘ਚ ਹਨੂੰਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਨਿਭਾਅ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮ ਉਸ ਦੌਰ ‘ਚ ਹਿੱਟ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
ਰਾਜ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਨ
ਅਟਲ ਬਿਹਾਰੀ ਵਾਜਪਾਈ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਸਭਾ ਦਾ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਅਗਸਤ 2003 ਤੋਂ ਅਗਸਤ 2009 ਤੱਕ 6 ਸਾਲ ਰਾਜ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਰਹੇ। ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ 7 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2012 ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਸਥਿਤ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ‘ਤੇ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਪੈਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕੋਕਿਲਾਬੇਨ ਧੀਰੂਭਾਈ ਅੰਬਾਨੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਮੁੰਬਈ ‘ਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਹਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ, 12 ਜੁਲਾਈ 2012 ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
