19 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਹਿੱਟ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਏਕਤਾ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਬਾਂਬੇ ਸਕਾਟਿਸ਼ ਸਕੂਲ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਠੀਬਾਈ ਕਾਲਜ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਸ਼ਨ ਕੀਤੀ। ਏਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਸੀ, ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਜਤਿੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਆਦਤ ਲਈ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਏਕਤਾ ਨੇ ਸੀਰੀਅਲ ‘ਮਾਨੋ ਯਾ ਨਾ ਮਾਨੋ’ ਨਾਲ ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ‘ਚ ਕਦਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਏਕਤਾ ਨੇ ਜੀਟੀਵੀ ਲਈ ਹਮ ਪੰਚ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਆਨ ਏਅਰ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਏਕਤਾ 19 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਜ ਏਕਤਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦੇ ਬਲ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਫਲ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ, ਸਕ੍ਰਿਪਟ ਲੇਖਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ।
22 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਵਿਆਹ
ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਲਾਈਫ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਲਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਏਕਤਾ ਕਪੂਰ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਏਕਤਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਸ਼ਰਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਆਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ 22 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿਚ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਸੈਟਲ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਏਕਤਾ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ‘ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ 17 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲਓ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੋ । ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੇਬ ਖਰਚ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਗੇ । ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਪੈਸੇ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਐਡ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ।
