Four Arrested For Hoisting ‘Khalistani’ Flag In Haryana’s Sirsa

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Police on Wednesday arrested four miscreants for allegedly unfurling Khalistani flag at a village in Sirsa district.

The incident had taken place on August 15, where miscreants hoisted a flag with ‘Khalistan Zindabad‘ written on it at Chaupal village under Kalanwali area of Sirsa district, a Haryana Police spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Haryana police spokesperson said that the four miscreants were held on charges of trying to disrupt peace, brotherhood and communal harmony.

The arrested accused were identified as Yudhvir Singh alias Jony, Rupinder Singh alias Rim and Gurjeet, all residents of Haryana’s Singhpura village, and Aman Sharma of Punjab’s Talwandi Sabo, told the police.

According to police spokesperson, two accused carried out the incident while the other two filmed the video on their mobile phones and posted it on social media.

A case under relevant provisions of the law has been registered at Kalanwali police station and a probe is underway, added the police spokesperson.

In another incident on August 14, two miscreants had managed to hoist a Khalistani flag on the rooftop of Moga district administrative complex in Punjab while removing the tricolour (Indian flag).
