ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਤੂਫਾਨੀ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਜੋਫਰਾ ਆਰਚਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਵਨਡੇ ‘ਚ 6 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਆਰਚਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਆਈਪੀਐੱਲ ਫਰੈਂਚਾਈਜ਼ੀ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਇੰਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕੈਂਪ ‘ਚ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੌੜ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਦੇ 16ਵੇਂ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਲਈ, ਇਹ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਇਨ੍ਹੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਫਿਟਨੈੱਸ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਾਫੀ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਵਹਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਰਿਕਾਰਡ 5 ਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਇੰਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਦੀ ਕਪਤਾਨੀ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
27 ਸਾਲਾ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਜੋਫਰਾ ਆਰਚਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਨਡੇ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ‘ਚ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਕਲੀਨ ਸਵੀਪ ਹਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਗਈ। 347 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਕੋਰ ਦਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਰਨ ਉਤਰੀ ਇੰਗਲਿਸ਼ ਟੀਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਖਰੀ 6 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ 40 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਈਆਂ। ਆਈਪੀਐੱਲ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ‘ਚ ਅੰਕ ਸੂਚੀ ‘ਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਰਹੀ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਇੰਡੀਅਨਜ਼ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਆਰਚਰ ਸੱਟ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ‘ਚ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐੱਲ. ‘ਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਜੋਫਰਾ ਆਰਚਰ 150 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਘੰਟੇ ਦੀ ਰਫਤਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਕੋਲ ਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਵਰ ਪਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਡੈਥ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਕਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋਫਰਾ ਆਰਚਰ ਨੇ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਵਿੱਚ 35 ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 46 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਝਟਕਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਆਰਚਰ ਨੂੰ IPL 2020 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਆਰਚਰ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ 20 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ।
ਜੋਫਰਾ ਆਰਚਰ ਨੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪਲ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਲੈਅ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੀ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਆਰਚਰ ਨੇ 9.1 ਓਵਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 40 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ 6 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ।
ਮੈਚ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਨੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਜੋਸ ਬਟਲਰ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਵਿਡ ਮਲਾਨ ਦੀ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਮ ‘ਤੇ 7 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ‘ਤੇ 346 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ। ਬਟਲਰ ਨੇ 127 ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 131 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਦਕਿ ਮਲਾਨ 114 ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 118 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਊਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਲੂੰਗੀ ਐਂਗਿਡੀ ਨੇ 4 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ। 347 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੀਚੇ ਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਉਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੀਜ਼ ਟੀਮ 43.1 ਓਵਰਾਂ ‘ਚ 287 ਦੌੜਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਢੇਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਤਰਫੋਂ ਹੇਨਰਿਕ ਕਲਾਸੇਨ ਨੇ 80 ਅਤੇ ਰਿਜ਼ਾ ਹੈਂਡਰਿਕਸ ਨੇ 52 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।
ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮੈਚ 59 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੀਜ਼ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ 3 ਮੈਚਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ 2-1 ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਂ ਕਰ ਲਈ।
