ਕਾਂਗੜਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਬਾਥੂ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਭਗ 150 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਮਹਾਰਾਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਾਗਰ ਝੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਂਗ ਡੈਮ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਤੋਂ 15 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਇੱਕ ਟਾਪੂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ 8 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ‘ਚ ਡੁੱਬਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫਰਵਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਤੱਕ 4 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਬਾਥੂ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਅੱਠ ਹੋਰ ਛੋਟੇ-ਛੋਟੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਦੇਖਣ ‘ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਲਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਥੂ ਦੀ ਤਾਰ (ਮਾਲਾ) ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਤਾ
ਮੰਦਰ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਅਨਿਲ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਲਾਵਤਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੀ ਪੌੜੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਉਹ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਸਵਰਗ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ 40 ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੰਦਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹੈ
ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਨਾਗ, ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਇਕ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਣਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਿਵਲਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਮੁੜ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਤੇ ਗਏ ਪੱਥਰ, ਚਟਾਨਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ, ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਨਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਾ ਥੂ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਪੱਥਰ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੀਆ ਸਮਾਂ
ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਾਥੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਤੋਂ ਜੂਨ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੈ। ਬਾਕੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਪਰਲਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਡੈਮ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ 43 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਜਲ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੱਕ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੀ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦਾ ਗੈਸਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਾ ਧਰਮਸ਼ਾਲਾ ਦਾ ਗੱਗਲ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਂਗੜਾ ਤੋਂ ਜਵਾਲੀ ਜਾਂ ਧਮੇਟਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੱਕ ਟੈਕਸੀ ਕਿਰਾਏ ‘ਤੇ ਲਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
