ਡੈਸਕ- ਕੋਲਕਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਆਰਜੀ ਕਾਰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਿਖਿਆਰਥੀ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦੇ ਬਲਾਤਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ, ਭੀੜ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਭੰਨਤੋੜ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ (ਆਈਐਮਏ) ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਰੋਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰੇਗੀ। 17 ਅਗਸਤ (ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ) ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੈਰ-ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ 24 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਬੰਦ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ।
ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਬਾਡੀ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਵਾਰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗਾ। ਆਈਐਮਏ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਰੋਗੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ (ਓਪੀਡੀ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਬੰਦ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣਵੇਂ ਸਰਜਰੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੋਲਕਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਆਰਜੀ ਕਾਰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਘਿਨਾਉਣੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਵ ਸੰਧਿਆ (ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ) ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਗੁੰਡਾਗਰਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਆਈਐਮਏ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਨੀਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਐਤਵਾਰ (ਅਗਸਤ) ਸਵੇਰੇ 6 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। 18) ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਲੋਪੈਥੀ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ 24 ਘੰਟੇ ਲਈ ਬੰਦ ਰੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਡਾਕਟਰ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਪੇਸ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਤੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਡਾਕਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ। ਆਈਐਮਏ ਨੇ ਕੋਲਕਾਤਾ ਦੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੰਨਤੋੜ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
