ਕਈ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ‘ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਖਾਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਕਟ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਧੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ’ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਈਮੇਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਪੈਮ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਟਵਿੱਟਰ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਪੈਮ ਜਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਇੱਕ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਅਕਾਉਂਟ ਨੂੰ ਐਕਸੈਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸਮਰੱਥ ਸੀ, ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਦੇਰ ਰਾਤ ਟਵੀਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਅਣਮਿੱਥੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ FB ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਕਟ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਈਮੇਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ (ਇੱਕ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਜਾਪਦੀ ਹੈ) ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਈਮੇਲ ਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਆਖਰੀ ਮਿਤੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ। ਹੁਣ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਟੈਕਸਟ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਫੀਚਰ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਨੇ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਈ ਫੇਸਬੁੱਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਟੈਕਟ ਫੀਚਰ ਨੂੰ ਐਕਟੀਵੇਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਾਤੇ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਗੇ।
