Washington- ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਈ ਦੇ ਮਾਉਈ ਕਾਊਂਟੀ ’ਚ ਲਾਹਿਨਾ ਕਸਬੇ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲ ’ਚ ਲੱਗੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ 36 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਮਾਉਈ ਕਾਊਂਟੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ਕ ਗਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਕਾਰਨ ਅੱਗ ਬੀਤੇ ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੜੀ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲਾਹਿਨਾ ’ਚ ਫੈਲ ਗਈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਭੀ ਬੈਠਾ ਇੱਕ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹੈ। ਮਾਉਈ ਕਾਊਂਟੀ ਵਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਬਿਆਨ ’ਚ ਇਹ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੱਗ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਈ ਕਾਰਾਂ ਸੜ ਗਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਮਲਬੇ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ’ਚ ਬਦਲ ਗਈਆਂ। ਉੱਧਰ ਅਮਰੀਰੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਜੋਅ ਬਾਇਡਨ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਾਉਈ ਟਾਪੂ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ’ਚ ਲੱਗੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ‘ਸਾਰੇ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਸੰਘੀ ਸਰੌਤਾਂ’ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੱਟ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਬਲ ਅਤੇ ਜਲ ਸੈਨਾ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਬਚਾਅ ਕਾਰਜ ’ਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ 20 ਲੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਲਾਹਿਨਾ ਕਸਬੇ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਉਈ ਦਾ ਲਗਭਗ 80% ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਲੋਕ ਲਾਹਿਨਾ ਦੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ’ਚ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਹਵਾਈ ਦੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ’ਚ ਸਮੇਟਦੀ ਹੈ। ਲਹਿਨਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ 1778 ’ਚ ਹਵਾਈ ’ਚ ਯੂਰਪੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਫੈਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ’ਚ ਅੱਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਫੈਲੀ, ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਲਾਹਿਨਾ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੇ ਅਵਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸੰਨ 1800 ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਲਾਹ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ 150 ਸਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਬੋਹੜ ਦਾ ਰੁੱਖ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕਿ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ’ਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ। ਮਾਹਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੱਗ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਖ਼ਤਮ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
