ਲੰਕਾਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ 4 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ‘ਤੇ 112 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਲਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਆਲਰਾਊਂਡਰ ਵਾਸ਼ਿੰਗਟਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ (6*) ਜਦਕਿ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਸਟੀਵਨ ਕ੍ਰਾਫਟ (21*) ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੱਕ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਸੈਣੀ ਨੇ ਸਲਾਮੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਲਿਊਕ ਵੇਲਜ਼ (35), ਕੀਟਨ ਜੇਨਿੰਗਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਰੌਬ ਜੋਨਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ। ਜੋਨਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਹੀ ਗੇਂਦ ‘ਤੇ ਸੈਣੀ ਨੇ ਲੈਗ ਬਿਫਰ ਆਊਟ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸੈਣੀ ਨੇ 5ਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ 6ਵੀਂ ਗੇਂਦ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਪਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਫਟ ਨੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਓਵਰ ‘ਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੈਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਨ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ, ਸੈਣੀ ਅਜੇ ਟੀਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹਨ।
ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਮਿੰਘਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਟੈਸਟ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨੈੱਟ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਵਜੋਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ। ਅਗਸਤ 2019 ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਟੀ-20 ਡੈਬਿਊ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ 29 ਸਾਲਾ ਸੈਣੀ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਹਰੇਕ ਫਾਰਮੈਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਵਾਰਵਿਕਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੈਂਟ ਦੀ 177 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਵਿੱਚ 7 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
