CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 23: Punjab reported 748 fresh cases of coronavirus or COVID-19 and 17 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This has taken the state’s coronavirus infection tally to 1,47,057 and the death toll climbed to 4,631.
According to a medical bulletin, there are still 6,687 active COVID-19 cases in the state as of Monday.
Of the fresh COVID-19 cases, Jalandhar district saw 171 cases followed by Mohali with 135 cases and Ludhiana with 96, among other districts in the state.
Of the more deaths reported in last 24 hours, two deaths each were reported from Fazilka, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and SBS Nagar, and one each from Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Muktsar and Mohali districts.
The total number of cured persons climbed to 1,35,739 as 731 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, as per the bulletin.
There are 11 critical patients are on ventilator support, while 137 are on oxygen support as of now, the bulletin said.
The bulletin said that a total of 30,24,921 samples have been collected for testing so far in the state.
