ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਮੀਅਰ ਲੀਗ 2024 ਦੀ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਗਲਤ’ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਈ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟੀਕਰਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਬਈ ‘ਚ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐੱਲ. ਨਿਲਾਮੀ 2024 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਖਬਰਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਂ ‘ਚ ਉਲਝਣ ਕਾਰਨ ‘ਗਲਤ’ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਹੈ। ਫਰੈਂਚਾਇਜ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਹਰਸ਼ਲ ਪਟੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ ਵੋਕਸ ਵਰਗੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਹਰਸ਼ਲ ਪਟੇਲ ਲਈ 11.75 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਮੰਗਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ, ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਪਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਫ੍ਰੈਂਚਾਇਜ਼ੀਜ਼ ਅਨਕੈਪਡ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੇਡੇ ਹਨ) ਭਾਰਤੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 20 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਮੁੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਦੀ ਸਹਿ-ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਟਾ ਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਫਰੈਂਚਾਇਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਅਹਿਸਾਸ’ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗਲਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਆਪਰੇਟਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟੀਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਸ਼ਾਂਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਗਲਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਖਰੀਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਉਣੀ ਸੀ। ਉਲਝਣ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੂਚੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕੋ ਨਾਮ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਸਨ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਦੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਿੰਗਜ਼ ਦੇ ਇਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਟੀਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਹੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫਰੈਂਚਾਈਜ਼ੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ‘ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਅਸੀਂ ਸਹੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ‘ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਛੱਤੀਸਗੜ੍ਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ 32 ਸਾਲਾ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ 2022 ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨਰਾਈਜ਼ਰਜ਼ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਲਈ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸੇ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ 19 ਸਾਲਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਖਬਰਾਂ ‘ਚ ਭੰਬਲਭੂਸਾ ਹੈ।”
ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ
ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲਸ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਗਲਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਬਚ ਗਿਆ। ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲਸ ਨੇ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਮਿਤ ਵਰਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸੁਮਿਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਲਈ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਉਸਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲਿਆ। ਹੁਣ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹਥੌੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਿੱਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਰੱਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
