Punjab records 50 COVID-19 Deaths; 1,071 New Cases in last 24 hours

CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 2: With 1,071 new coronavirus (or COVID-19) cases and 50 more deaths in Punjab in the last 24 hours, the state’s cases count has reached 1,16,213 and death toll to 3,501, according to media health bulletin on Friday.

According to state’s COVID bulletin, 134 cases were reported from Amritsar; 131 SAS Nagar; 128 from Jalandhar; 111 from Ludhiana; 91 from Patiala; 82 from Gurdaspur; 45 from Fazilka; 40 from Hoshiarpur; 35 from Kapurthala; 32 from Ropar; 31 each from Pathankot and Ferozepur; 27 from Muktsar; 26 from Sangrur; 25 from Bathinda; 23 from Faridkot; 18 from Fatehgarh Sahib; 17 from SBS Nagar; 16 from Mansa; 12 from Tarn Taran; 11 from Barnala; and 5 from Moga.

There are 14,935 active cases of coronavirus in the state, says the bulletin.

Meanwhile, 1,840 more patients cured and were discharged, taking the state’s recovery toll to 97,777.
