Punjab Reports 557 New COVID-19 Cases With 12 Fatalities In Past 24 Hours; Death Toll Now 318

CHANDIGARH, JULY 27: Punjab reported 557 new coronavirus (or COVID-19) cases and 12 more fatalities in the past 24 hours, pushing the state’s cases count to 13,769 and death toll to 318, said the state’s media bulletin on Monday.

20 out of Punjab’s 22 district reported coronavirus cases.

According to state’s COVID bulletin, 176 cases were reported from Ludhiana; 54 from Jalandhar; 53 from Gurdaspur; 46 from Amritsar; 40 from Patiala; 31 from SAS Nagar; 19 each from Hoshiarpur and Tarn Taran; 18 from Moga; 17 each from Barnala and Sangrur; 12 each from Pathankot and Fatehgarh Sahib; 9 each from Bathinda and Kapurthala; 8 each from Mansa and Muktsar; 5 from Ropar; and 2 each from SBS Nagar and Faridkot.

The sources of 11 positive cases of coronavirus were out of Punjab.

There are 4,387 active cases of coronavirus in the state, says the bulletin.

Meanwhile, 254 more patients cured and were discharged, taking the state’s recovery toll to 9,064.
