Punjab Reports 665 New COVID-19 Cases With 16 Fatalities In Past 24 Hours

CHANDIGARH, JULY 31: Punjab reported 665 new coronavirus (or COVID-19) cases and 16 more fatalities in the past 24 hours, pushing the state’s cases count to 16,119 and death toll to 386, said the state’s media bulletin on Friday.

19 out of Punjab’s 22 district reported coronavirus cases.

According to state’s COVID bulletin, 248 cases were reported from Ludhiana; 136 from Patiala; 71 from Amritsar; 43 from Pathankot; 32 from Barnala; 25 from Sangrur; 24 each from Jalandhar and SAS Nagar; 15 from Fatehgarh Sahib; 11 from Hoshiarpur; 9 from SBS Nagar; 8 from Ropar; 6 from Tarn Taran; 5 from Bathinda; 3 from Ferozepur; 2 from Kapurthala; and 1 each from Muktsar, Moga and Gurdaspur.

There are 4,999 active cases of coronavirus in the state, says the bulletin.

Meanwhile, 225 more patients cured and were discharged, taking the state’s recovery toll to 10,734.
