ਇਸ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ‘ਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਲਕਾਤਾ ਨਾਈਟ ਰਾਈਡਰਜ਼ (KKR) ਦੇ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ IPL (IPL 2023) ‘ਚ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਟਾਈਟਨਸ (GT) ਖਿਲਾਫ ਮੈਚ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਖਰੀ 5 ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ‘ਤੇ 5 ਛੱਕੇ ਜੜੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਸਿਤਾਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਲੀਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਕੇਆਰ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਕ ਉਪਯੋਗੀ ਪਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੇਡੀਆਂ। ਲੀਗ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ‘ਚ ਬਹਿਸ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ‘ਚ ਕਦੋਂ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਚ ਫਿਨਿਸ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਕੇ ਦਿਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ‘ਚ ਖੇਡਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ।
ਵੈਸਟਇੰਡੀਜ਼ ਲਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਈ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਟੀਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਥਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਚੋਣਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਦੇਰ ਤੱਕ ਨਾ ਟਿਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਚੋਣਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੀਨ ਦੇ ਗੁਆਂਗਜ਼ੂ ‘ਚ ਸਤੰਬਰ-ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ‘ਚ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ‘ਚ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਰੁਤੁਰਾਜ ਗਾਇਕਵਾੜ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਡੈਬਿਊ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਡੈਬਿਊ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ Revsports ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਊ ‘ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੀ ਜਰਸੀ ਕਦੋਂ ਪਹਿਨਣਗੇ, ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ? ਇਸ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿੰਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਰਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਰਿੰਕੂ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਲੜਕਾ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਭਾਵੁਕ ਵੀ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਡੈਬਿਊ ਦਿਨ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਜਰਸੀ ਪਹਿਨਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ‘ਚ ਹੰਝੂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਲੰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਔਖਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ‘ਚ ਖੇਡਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਜਰਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਨਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੋਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹੋ, ਓਨਾ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ‘ਤੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਵਧਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ. ਪਰ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਵੀ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਰ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਖੇਡਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਨਿਧਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਰਿੰਕੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਇਕ ਗੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਜਰਸੀ ‘ਚ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਦੇਖਣਗੇ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਪਲ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤਰਾਅ-ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਦੇਖੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਜਰਸੀ ਪਹਿਨਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
