ਫਿਲਮ ਬੇਖੁਦੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੂਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੈਫ ਦੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਈ ਤਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ‘ਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਸੈਫ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਸ਼ਰਮੀਲਾ ਟੈਗੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਫ ਦਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਾ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਵੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਸੈਫ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਸੈਫ ਨੇ 1991 ‘ਚ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇਸ ਵਿਆਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਸਾਰਾ ਅਲੀ ਖਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਬਰਾਹਿਮ ਅਲੀ ਖਾਨ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਲ 2004 ‘ਚ ਤਲਾਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
