ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਨੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਦੂਜੇ ਟੈਸਟ ਮੈਚ ‘ਚ ਮੈਦਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਉਤਰ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਪਲੱਬਧੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਂ ਕਰ ਲਈ। ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਇਹ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ 13ਵੇਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਹਨ। ਸੌਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼, ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨੂੰ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੀ ‘ਨਵੀਂ ਕੰਧ’ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਖਾਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੈਸਟ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਇਸ ‘ਦੀਵਾਰ’ ਨੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਕਰਨ ‘ਚ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਸਮੇਂ ‘ਚ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਸਾਥ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ 35 ਸਾਲਾ ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਸਾਲ 2009 ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਲਕਾਤਾ ਨਾਈਟ ਰਾਈਡਰਜ਼ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਫਰੈਂਚਾਇਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿ-ਮਾਲਕ ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਖਾਨ ਹਨ। ਫਿਰ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ.ਪੀ.ਐਲ. IPL ‘ਚ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੀ ਹੈਮਸਟ੍ਰਿੰਗ ‘ਚ ਫ੍ਰੈਕਚਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੀ ਸੱਟ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੇਟੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਲਾਜ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਬੁਲਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਕਰਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੇਕੇਆਰ ਫ੍ਰੈਂਚਾਇਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸਹਿ-ਮਾਲਕ ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਖਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਿ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬਾਲੀਵੁੱਡ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਖਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ‘ਚ ਰਗਬੀ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਟ ਨਾਲ ਜੂਝਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਚਿੰਟੂ ਯਾਨੀ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਜਰੀ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ‘ਚ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਖਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਉਜਵਲ ਹੈ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ‘ਚ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ ਮਿਲਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇੰਨਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸ਼ਾਹਰੁਖ ਨੇ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਬੁਲਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਸੰਭਵ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਕੋਲ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਮ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਯਾਨੀ 2010 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਟੈਸਟ ਡੈਬਿਊ ਕੀਤਾ। ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਨੇ ਬੈਂਗਲੁਰੂ ‘ਚ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਆਪਣਾ ਟੈਸਟ ਡੈਬਿਊ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਡੈਬਿਊ ਟੈਸਟ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਰੀ ‘ਚ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਪਾਰੀ ‘ਚ 72 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਵੀ ਕੰਗਾਰੂਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਆਪਣਾ 100ਵਾਂ ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਟੈਸਟ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਡਬਲਯੂਟੀਸੀ ਟੈਸਟ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇਸ਼ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ ਸਿਰਫ ਟੈਸਟ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਖੇਡਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਨਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਟੀ-20 ‘ਚ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ।
