ਸ਼ਿਖਰ ਧਵਨ ਦੀ ਕਰੀਬ 6 ਮਹੀਨੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਧਵਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਖਰੀ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੈਚ ਜੁਲਾਈ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸਨੂੰ 19 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2022 ਨੂੰ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਵਨਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਧਵਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤੀ ਮੈਚ ‘ਚ 84 ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ 10 ਚੌਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ 79 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।
ਸਲਾਮੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਸ਼ਿਖਰ ਧਵਨ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਔਖੇ ਦੌਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ’ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਪੜਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰਨ ‘ਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਮੈਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਧਵਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ”ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁਦ ‘ਤੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਖੇਡ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੋਚ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਉਤਰਾਅ-ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਜਾਂ ਆਖਰੀ ਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ. ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।”
ਸ਼ਿਖਰ ਧਵਨ ਵਿਜੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰੇ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਲਾਪ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ
ਧਵਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿਜੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰੇ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਦੇ ਪੰਜ ਮੈਚਾਂ ‘ਚ 0, 12, 14, 18 ਅਤੇ 12 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਵਨਡੇ ‘ਚ ਟੀਮ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਵੀ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ।
ਧਵਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ”ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ (ਟੀਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੋਣ ਦੀਆਂ) ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਬੱਸ ਇੰਨਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਦੇਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਾਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਰੱਬ ‘ਤੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।”
ਸ਼ਿਖਰ ਧਵਨ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ”ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਜ਼ਰਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਚੰਗੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਖੇਡੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਖੇਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਹਤਮੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਫਿੱਟ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
