ਮੈਲਬੌਰਨ: ਭਾਰਤੀ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਮੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਦਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਾ ਬਿਤਾਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਪਰ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਆਲਰਾਊਂਡਰ ਟੌਮ ਮੂਡੀ ਦਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਖੇਡ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਦਬਾਅ ਵਾਲੀ ਖੇਡ ‘ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਹਾਰਤ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਲਾਭ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਜਸਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬੁਮਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਖਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸ਼ਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਟੀਮ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਰੋਨਾ ਵਾਇਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਠੀਕ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
ਸ਼ਮੀ ਨੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਮੈਚ ‘ਚ ਆਖਰੀ ਓਵਰ ‘ਚ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ 17 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ ਇਸ ਮੈਚ ਦੇ 20ਵੇਂ ਓਵਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਮੂਡੀ ਨੇ ‘ਸਟਾਰ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ’ ਦੇ ‘ਗੇਮ ਪਲਾਨ’ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ‘ਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਣ ਜਾਂ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਉਸ ਇਕ ਓਵਰ ਦੀ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੈ।”
ਸ਼ਮੀ ਕੋਵਿਡ-19 ਦੀ ਪਕੜ ਕਾਰਨ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ‘ਤੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਖੇਡੀ ਗਈ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ। ਟੀ-20 ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ, ਸ਼ਮੀ ਨੇ ਲਗਭਗ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯੂਏਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਗੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਖਰੀ ਵਨਡੇ ਜੁਲਾਈ ‘ਚ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੌਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਮੂਡੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਮੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਭੁਵਨੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਤਿਕੜੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਗੇ। ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਚ ਬਣੇ 57 ਸਾਲਾ ਮੂਡੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਟੀਮ ‘ਚ ਚੁਣਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਅਨੁਭਵ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹਾਂਗਾ। ਜ਼ਾਹਿਰ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭੁਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਸ਼ਦੀਪ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵੱਡੇ (ਦਬਾਅ ਵਾਲੇ) ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ (ਮੈਚ ਜੇਤੂ) ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਮੈਚ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਜਾਣ ‘ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਰੀਬੀ ਮੈਚ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਪੱਖ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਹਨ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੈਚ ‘ਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਦਾ ਦਬਦਬਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ।
