Pittsburgh- ਪਿਟਸਬਰਗ ਦੇ ਗਾਰਫੀਲਡ ’ਚ ਕਰੀਬ ਛੇ ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੋਈ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੰਦੂਕਧਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਘਾਟ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਬੰਦੂਕਧਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਵਿਲੀਅਮ ਹਾਰਡੀਸਨ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ’ਚ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ ਬ੍ਰੌਡ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਰਥ ਮੈਥਿਲਡਾ ਸੜਕਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਘਰ ’ਚ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 11 ਵਜੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਅਲੇਗੇਨੀ ਕਾਊਂਟੀ ਸ਼ੈਰਿਫ ਕੇਵਿਨ ਕ੍ਰਾਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਨਫੋਰਸਮੈਂਟ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਉਕਤ ਘਰ ’ਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਦਖ਼ਲੀ ਨੋਟਿਸ ਦੇਣ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਪਿਟਸਬਰਗ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਸੇਫ਼ਟੀ ਨੇ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਘਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ।
ਸ਼ੈਰਿਫ ਕੇਵਿਨ ਕ੍ਰਾਸ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਪਰ ਹਰ ਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ ਲੱਗੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹਾਰਡੀਸਨ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੀ ਮੰਜ਼ਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਖਿੜਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਧ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਕਤ ਘਰ ’ਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਗੋਲਾ ਬਾਰੂਦ ਸੀ। ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਗੰਭੀਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਐੱਫ. ਬੀ. ਆਈ. ਸਣੇ ਕਈ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਾਰ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਤਕ ਬਲ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮੀਂ ਕਰੀਬ 5.15 ਵਜੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਘਾਟ ਉਤਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਗੋਲੀਬਾਰੀ ’ਚ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਉੱਧਰ ਵ੍ਹਾਈਟ ਹਾਊਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਜੋਅ ਬਾਇਡਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
