ਸੁਨਾਮ : ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੂਬਾ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਊਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਇਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਯੂ.ਕੇ. ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਕੋਲ ਉਠਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਊਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ 82ਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਰਾਜ ਪੱਧਰੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਣਥੱਕ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਸਦਕਾ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਸਥੀਆਂ 40 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਂਦੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਊਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਤਤਕਾਲੀ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਮਾਈਕਲ ਓਡਵਾਇਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ, ਸਕਾਟਲੈਂਡ ਵਿਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਡਾਇਰੀ ਵੀ ਓਥੇ ਹੀ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੈ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਹਾਈ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਕੋਲ ਉਠਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਊਧਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਇਹ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਂਦੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ।
