ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਨਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਥਾਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ, ਦੂਜਾ ਹਰਿਦੁਆਰ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਨਾਸਿਕ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੌਥਾ ਉਜੈਨ ਸਿਮਹਸਥ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹਰ 12 ਸਾਲ ਬਾਅਦ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅੱਜ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਘੱਟ ਲੋਕ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
ਨਾਗਾ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ-
ਦੱਸ ਦੇਈਏ ਕਿ ਕੁੰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਨਾਗਾ ਸਾਧੂਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਮੰਥਨ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਹੈ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਚਾਰ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਛਿੜਕਣ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲੇ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
ਬਾਰਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਸਾਲ –
ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ 12 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਚੱਲਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਦਿਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ 12 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹਨ।
ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ –
ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ 7ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਚੀਨੀ ਯਾਤਰੀ ਹਿਊਏਨ ਸਾਂਗ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਮਰਾਟ ਹਰਸ਼ਵਰਧਨ ਜਾਂ ਹਰਸ਼ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੁੰਭ ਵਰਗਾ ਮੇਲਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੰਜ ਲੱਖ ਲੋਕ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਲੀਕ –
ਇਕ ਕਥਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੁੰਭ ਮੇਲਾ ਚਾਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਕਿਉਂਕਿ, ਜਦੋਂ ਗਰੁੜ ਕੁੰਭ (ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਘੜੇ) ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਡ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਚਾਰ ਥਾਵਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਿਆ – ਹਰਿਦੁਆਰ, ਨਾਸਿਕ, ਉਜੈਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਲਾਹਾਬਾਦ (ਹੁਣ, ਪ੍ਰਯਾਗਰਾਜ)।
ਇਹ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ 2013 ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀ।
2013 ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਭਗ 120 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਭੀੜ ਵੇਖੀ ਗਈ।
