ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਉਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ‘ਚ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ‘ਚ ਤੀਜੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ।
ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਤੁਲਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਟ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸੀ ‘ਤੇ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਵਜੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਟੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਓਵਰ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੇ ਵੈਸਟਇੰਡੀਜ਼ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਤੀਜੇ ਟੀ-20 ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੈਚ ‘ਚ ਚਾਰ ਓਵਰਾਂ ‘ਚ 19 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਵਿਕਟ ਲਈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਮੈਚ ਸੱਤ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਪੰਜ ਮੈਚਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ 2-1 ਦੀ ਬੜ੍ਹਤ ਬਣਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ।
ਵੈਸਟਇੰਡੀਜ਼ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਦਾ ਤੀਜਾ ਟੀ-20 ਜਿੱਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੈਨੂੰ ‘ਫਿਲਰ’ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਜਾਂ ਚੌਥੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੂਰੇ ਚਾਰ ਓਵਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ‘ਚ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ‘ਚ ਵੀ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਉਤਰਾਅ-ਚੜ੍ਹਾਅ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਇਸਦਾ ਲਾਭ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਵੈਸਟਇੰਡੀਜ਼ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਚੌਥਾ ਟੀ-20 ਮੈਚ ਫਲੋਰੀਡਾ ਦੇ ਲਾਡਰਹਿਲ ‘ਚ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਪਤਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਦੇ 15ਵੇਂ ਐਡੀਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਟਾਈਟਨਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ 15 ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 44 ਦੀ ਔਸਤ ਨਾਲ ਕੁੱਲ 487 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੇ ਬੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਚਾਰ ਅਰਧ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਏ।
28 ਸਾਲਾ ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 8 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦਾ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਦਿੱਗਜ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਗਾਵਸਕਰ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨੇਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਦਾ ਰੁਤਬਾ ਵਧਿਆ ਹੈ।
