ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ 5ਜੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 5ਜੀ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਟੀਕਲ ਫਾਈਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਦੇਸ਼ ਭਰ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਏਅਰਟੈੱਲ ਦੇ ਸੀਈਓ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਵਿਟਲ ਨੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਪਰੇਟਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਹੀ ਸਮਾਂ-ਸੀਮਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ 5ਜੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਲਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਕੁਝ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਏਅਰਟੈੱਲ ਦੀ 5ਜੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਇਸ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਤੱਕ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਸੀਈਓ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਏਅਰਟੈੱਲ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ 2024 ਤੱਕ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਕੁਝ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੀਓ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ 5ਜੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ 15 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਂਚ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਹੈ। ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ ਅਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਸ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
