ਮਥੁਰਾ ਦਾ ਦਵਾਰਕਾਧੀਸ਼ ਮੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾਧੀਰਾਜ ਬਾਜ਼ਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਸ਼ਾਨ, ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਲਈ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਸ਼ਰਾਵਣ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਸੋਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਝੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਘਾਟ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਅਸਕੁੰਡਾ ਘਾਟ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ।
ਰਾਜਾ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਭਰਾ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਗੂੰਜ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦੇਣ ਲੱਗੀ। ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ। ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ। ਰੰਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋਇਆ।
