ਉੱਤਰਾਖੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਤੁੰਗਨਾਥ ਮੰਦਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਮੰਦਰ ਹੈ। ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਰੁਦਰਪ੍ਰਯਾਗ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਚੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ। ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਪੰਚ ਕੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਹਰ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਬਰਫ਼ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਈ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਕ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਚਲਿਤ ਹਨ।
ਸਾਵਣ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਭੀੜ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਤੁੰਗਨਾਥ ਪਰਬਤ ‘ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਉਚਾਈ 3640 ਮੀਟਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪੰਚ ਕੇਦਾਰਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੀ ਹੈ। ਉੱਤਰਾਖੰਡ ਦੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਵਾਲ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹਿਮਾਲਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।
ਤੁੰਗਨਾਥ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਕੀ ਹੈ?
ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਸਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਤੁੰਗਨਾਥ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਹੈ। ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਹਾਭਾਰਤ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੁਰੂਕਸ਼ੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਕਾਰਨ ਭੋਲੇਨਾਥ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੇਵਾਧਿਦੇਵ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੁੰਗਨਾਥ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਮਾਤਾ ਪਾਰਵਤੀ ਨੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕ ਮੰਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਰਾਵਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਰਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਦਰਸ਼ੀਲਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁੰਗਨਾਥ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।
