ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ‘ਚ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ, 10ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ‘ਚ ਬਣਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਾਣੋ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਹਨ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ 10ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਰਾਮਾਇਣ ਕਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਕਥਾ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਰਾਵਣ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਕਾ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਭੋਲੇਨਾਥ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਥਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਭਗਤ ਇੱਥੇ ਪੂਜਾ-ਪਾਠ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੁਨੇਸ਼ਵਰਮ ਹੈ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਇਹ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਰਾਮਾਇਣ ਕਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਹੋਂਦ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਕਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਮੰਨੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਪੰਚ ਈਸਵਰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਸਰਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਮੁਨੀਸ਼ਵਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਸੀ। ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਮੰਦਰ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੈਸੇ, ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜ ਮੰਦਰ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੰਦਿਰ 10ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੱਤੂਵਾ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 11ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਕੇ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰਨੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਫਨਾ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਿਲਸਿਲਾ 14ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਿਹਾ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਕਾਲੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਜਾਦੂ-ਟੂਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਭ-ਸੰਭਾਲ ਬੋਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਇੱਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਮੰਦਰ 19ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰੀਗਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇੱਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਲ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਮੁਰੰਮਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਪੁਰਤਗਾਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ 1505 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ‘ਤੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
