‘ਕੈਪਟਨ ਕੂਲ’ ਧੋਨੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਫੈਸਲੇ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਧੋਨੀ ਦੀ ਪੋਸਟ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕ ਕਾਫੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਹੋਏ। ਧੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ‘ਤੇ ਇਕ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਪੋਸਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਲਿਖਿਆ, ‘ਇਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਲਈ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ। ਮੈਨੂੰ 19:29 ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਸਮਝੋ।
ਇਸ ਵੀਡੀਓ ‘ਚ ਧੋਨੀ ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਤਾਏ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਦਿਖਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਧੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੀਡੀਓ ‘ਚ ਜਿਸ ਗੀਤ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੋਲ ਸਨ- ‘ਮੈਂ ਪਲ ਦੋ ਪਲ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਹਾਂ, ਪਲ ਦੋ ਪਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਹਾਨੀ ਹੈ’। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਧੋਨੀ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਹ IPL 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਣਗੇ।
ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧੋਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸਫਲ ਕਪਤਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਲ 2007 ਵਿੱਚ ਧੋਨੀ ਦੀ ਕਪਤਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਨੇ 2011 ਵਨਡੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਤਿਆ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਲ 2013 ਵਿੱਚ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਆਈਸੀਸੀ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਜ਼ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਆਈਸੀਸੀ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਕੀ ਹੈ।
ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਧੋਨੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ 90 ਟੈਸਟ ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 38.09 ਦੀ ਔਸਤ ਨਾਲ 4876 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ‘ਚ 6 ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਅਤੇ 33 ਅਰਧ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਧੋਨੀ ਨੇ 350 ਵਨਡੇ ਮੈਚਾਂ ‘ਚ 50.57 ਦੀ ਔਸਤ ਨਾਲ 10773 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਦਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 98 ਟੀ-20 ਮੈਚਾਂ ‘ਚ 1617 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
