ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ‘ਚ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਟੈਸਟ ਮੈਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਲੈਸਟਰਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੀ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਟਕੀਪਰ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਕਰ ਭਰਤ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਅਰਧ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਦੀ ਬਦੌਲਤ ਹਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਟੀਮ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 81 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਪੈਵੇਲੀਅਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਰਤ ਨੇ ਵਿਰਾਟ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਇਆ। ਵਿਰਾਟ 33 ਦੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਸਕੋਰ ‘ਤੇ ਛੇਵੀਂ ਵਿਕਟ ਵਜੋਂ ਆਊਟ ਹੋਏ। ਲੈਸਟਰਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਲਈ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਰੋਮਨ ਵਾਕਰ ਨੇ ਸਿਰਫ 24 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ 5 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰਾਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।
ਮੀਂਹ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਇਸ ਮੈਚ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਿਰਫ਼ 60.2 ਓਵਰ ਹੀ ਖੇਡੇ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਸਟੰਪ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਭਾਰਤ (70*) ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਸ਼ਮੀ (18*) ਕ੍ਰੀਜ਼ ‘ਤੇ ਸਨ। ਭਰਤ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 111 ਗੇਂਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਾਰੀ ‘ਚ 8 ਚੌਕੇ ਅਤੇ 1 ਛੱਕਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਲਾਪ ਹੋਣਾ ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ।

ਲੈਸਟਰਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਦੇ 21 ਸਾਲਾ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਰੋਮਨ ਵਾਕਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਫੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ 24 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ। ਵਿਲ ਡੇਵਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗਾ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਲਈਆਂ। ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਟੈਸਟ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਚੇਤੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਪੁਜਾਰਾ, ਵਿਕਟਕੀਪਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਭ ਪੰਤ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਜਸਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬੁਮਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਲੈਸਟਰਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਲਈ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਰੋਹਿਤ ਨੇ ਟਾਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਰੋਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭਮਨ ਗਿੱਲ (21) ਨੇ ਪਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਗਿੱਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਫਾਰਮ ਵਿਚ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਡੇਵਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਟਕੀਪਰ ਪੰਤ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਕੈਚ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ 10ਵੇਂ ਓਵਰ ਵਿਚ 35 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਕੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸਟਰਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦਿਵਾਈ। ਇਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸਕੋਰ 148 ਦੌੜਾਂ ‘ਤੇ 7 ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਸੀ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਭਰਤ ਨੇ ਤੇਜ਼ ਗੇਂਦਬਾਜ਼ ਉਮੇਸ਼ ਯਾਦਵ (23) ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ 8ਵੀਂ ਵਿਕਟ ਲਈ 66 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਜੋੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ 200 ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ।
