ਕਾਮਾਖਿਆ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਾਨਤਾ
ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੇਵੀ ਸਤੀ ਨੇ ਯੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਭੋਲੇਨਾਥ ਨੇ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਰੀਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਵਧਦਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਭਗਵਾਨ ਭੋਲੇਨਾਥ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਤੀ ਦੇ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੋਂ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ, ਭਗਵਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਚੱਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਤੀ ਦੇ ਸੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਟੁਕੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਮਾਂ ਸਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਟੁਕੜੇ ਡਿੱਗੇ, ਉੱਥੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਪੀਠ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਮਿਥਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਯੋਨੀ ਅਸਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਲਾਂਚਲ ਪਰਬਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗੀ ਸੀ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਾਮਾਖਿਆ ਦੇਵੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਪੀਠ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਹੋਈ। ਇਹ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਯੋਨੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਜੋ ਅੱਜ ਵੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਮਾਹਵਾਰੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਹਵਾਰੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਕਿਸ਼ਤੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਅਸਾਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਦਿਸਪੁਰ ਨੇੜੇ ਗੁਹਾਟੀ ਤੋਂ 8 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ। ਮਾਂ ਕਾਮਾਖਿਆ ਦੇਵੀ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਤੰਤਰ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਲਈ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਦੂਰੀ ‘ਤੇ ਨੀਲਾਂਚਲ ਪਰਬਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮੰਦਰ ਤਾਂਤਰਿਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਿੱਧਪੀਠ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂਤਰਿਕ ਮਾਂ ਕਾਮਾਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੇਵੀ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਨੋਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮਾਖਿਆ ਦੇਵੀ ਮੰਦਰ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦੇਵੀ ਦੀ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਸੱਪ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਇੱਥੇ ਅੰਬੂਵਾਚੀ ਮੇਲਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਦੀ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਲਾਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਲਾਲ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਵਾਰੀ ਚੱਕਰ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਹੀ ਆਨੰਦ ਭੈਰਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਾਮਾਖਿਆ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਅਧੂਰੇ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
