ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵੈਸਟਇੰਡੀਜ਼ ਖਿਲਾਫ 5 ਮੈਚਾਂ ਦੀ ਟੀ-20 ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਯੂਏਈ ‘ਚ ਖੇਡੇ ਗਏ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੌੜੀਆਂ ਯਾਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ। ਰੋਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੂੜੀਵਾਦੀ ਰਵੱਈਏ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਿਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਕਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ। ਪਰ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਟੀ-20 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ‘ਚ ਮਨਚਾਹੇ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਖਰਾਬ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਖੇਡੀ।
ਰੋਹਿਤ ਨੇ ਯਕੀਨਨ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਕਿ ਨਵੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਨੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾਜਨਕ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਮਿਲੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ‘ਚ ਇਕ ਜਾਂ ਦੋ ਮੈਚ ਹਾਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਠਾਇਆ।
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ‘ਤੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਮਾਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਲਗਭਗ 80 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਮੈਚ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇਕਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਰੂੜੀਵਾਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਅਪਣਾਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇੰਨੇ ਮੈਚ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਕਦੇ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਕੱਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ, ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ।
ਰੋਹਿਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਬਾਅਦ ‘ਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਖੇਡ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਖੇਡ ਖੇਡਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਖੇਡੋ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਬੇਲੋੜਾ ਦਬਾਅ ਨਾ ਲਓ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਖੇਡਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ.
