ਇੰਸਟੈਂਟ ਮੈਸੇਜਿੰਗ ਐਪ WhatsApp ਨੇ ਕਰਨਾਟਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੇ 500 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਦ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਇਲਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ‘ਵਟਸਐਪ ‘ਤੇ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਕਰੋ’ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਭੁਗਤਾਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਊਲ ਫਾਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ 2021 ਦੀ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ META ਦੇ ਸਲਾਨਾ ਇਵੈਂਟ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸਦੇ ਐਪਸ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ-ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤਬਦੀਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ‘ਚ ਵਿਵਹਾਰਕ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ WhatsApp ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਅਭਿਜੀਤ ਬੋਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ, “WhatsApp ‘ਤੇ, ਅਸੀਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਮਾਵੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਅਗਲੇ 500 ਮਿਲੀਅਨ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਈਕੋਸਿਸਟਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਕਰਨਾਟਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੇ 500 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਪਾਇਲਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਬੋਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਟਸਐਪ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੀ ਸੌਖ ਅਤੇ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗਤਾ ਪਿਰਾਮਿਡ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਯੂਪੀਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।” ਅਸੀਂ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਅਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਾਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ‘ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ।
ਵਟਸਐਪ ਦਾ ਪਾਇਲਟ ‘ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਪੇਮੈਂਟ ਉਤਸਵ’ 15 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਮਾਂਡਿਆ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਯਾਥਾਨਹੱਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ UPI ਲਈ ਸਾਈਨ ਅੱਪ ਕਰਨਾ, ਇੱਕ UPI ਖਾਤਾ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਭੁਗਤਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਧੀਆ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਿਆਨੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੁਕਾਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਿਊਟੀ-ਪਾਰਲਰ ਤੱਕ, ਕਈ ਹੋਰ ਛੋਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨੇ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਹੁਣ ‘ਵਟਸਐਪ ‘ਤੇ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਕਰੋ’ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਭੁਗਤਾਨ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
