ਮਧੂਬਾਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਫਿਲਮੀ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ
ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 14 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1924 ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ਾਵਰ ‘ਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, 1935 ‘ਚ ਸਿਰਫ 11 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ‘ਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੇ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਇਨਕਲਾਬ’ ‘ਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਬਾਂਬੇ ਟਾਕੀਜ਼ ਸਟੂਡੀਓ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਲੈਪਰ ਬੁਆਏ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ‘ਚ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਣਗੇ। ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਦਾ ਫਿਲਮੀ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਬਤੌਰ ਹੀਰੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਰਿਹਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਦਾਕਾਰਾ ਮਧੂਬਾਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰੀਅਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਹੋਈ
ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਜੱਦਨ ਬਾਈ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਘੰਟੀ ਵਜਾਈ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਜੱਦਨ ਬਾਈ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਨਰਗਿਸ ਨੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਿਆ। ਉਹ ਰਸੋਈ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਆਈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਪਕੌੜੇ ਤਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਗਲਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ੍ਹ ‘ਤੇ ਚਨੇ ਦਾ ਆਟਾ ਵੀ ਲੱਗ ਗਿਆ। ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਮਾਸੂਮੀਅਤ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਈ। ਇਕ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਜਦੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ 1948 ‘ਚ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ 20 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ 8 ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ‘ਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ 22 ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਫਿਲਮ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਦੋਵਾਂ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਰ ‘ਚ ਬਦਲ ਗਈ।
ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤੇ
ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ 16 ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਨੇ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਆਵਾਰਾ’ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਇਕ ਗੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਲਮਾਉਣ ‘ਤੇ 8 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰੀ ਫਿਲਮ ‘ਤੇ 12 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਫਿਲਮ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਮਧੂ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ‘ਫਸਟ ਫੈਮਿਲੀ ਆਫ ਇੰਡੀਅਨ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ – ਦਿ ਕਪੂਰਜ਼’ ‘ਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਧੂ ਨੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ, ਆਪਣੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਪੈਸਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਸਤ ਰਾਜ ਕਪੂਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਰ.ਕੇ. ਜਦੋਂ ਸਟੂਡੀਓ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੰਕਟ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗੁਜ਼ਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਨਰਗਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਕੰਗਣ ਵੇਚ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇੰਨਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਸਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ, ਘਰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਲਾਜਵੰਤੀ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਨਿਰਮਾਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਧੂ ਸ਼ਿਫਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਵੀ ਕਮਾਏ।
