ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ: ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਉਭਰਦੇ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ 2023 ਦੀ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਲੱਗੇਗੀ। 23 ਸਾਲਾ ਬਰੂਕ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਰਾਇਲਜ਼, ਰਾਇਲ ਚੈਲੇਂਜਰਜ਼ ਬੈਂਗਲੁਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਸਨਰਾਈਜ਼ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਬਾਅਦ ‘ਚ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ‘ਚ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪਰਸ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਈ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ 13.25 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਖਰਚ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੁਕ ਨੇ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇਸ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਸ ਡੇਢ ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਰੱਖੀ ਸੀ। ਬਰੂਕ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਆਈਪੀਐਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੌਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਲੱਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਬਰੁਕ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਨਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਕਮ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ। ਬਰੁਕ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਦਾਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ‘ਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਹੰਝੂ ਆ ਗਏ।
ਬਰੂਕ ਨੇ 20 ਟੀ-20 ਮੈਚਾਂ ‘ਚ 372 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ
22 ਫਰਵਰੀ 1999 ਨੂੰ ਕੇਗਲੇ, ਯੌਰਕਸ਼ਾਇਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੂਕ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਫਾਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ 20 ਟੀ-20 ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਅਰਧ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਕੁੱਲ 372 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਟ੍ਰਾਈਕ ਰੇਟ 137.77 ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੂਕ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਫਾਰਮ ‘ਚ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ‘ਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਦੌਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨ ਟੀਮ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ 3 ਟੈਸਟ ਮੈਚਾਂ ‘ਚ ਕੁੱਲ 468 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ 7 ਟੀ-20 ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 238 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਜੋੜੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਟੀ-20 ‘ਚ ਬਰੂਕ ਦਾ ਸਟ੍ਰਾਈਕ ਰੇਟ 163 ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਵਿਰਾਟ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਲਨਾ?
ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਬੇਨ ਸਟੋਕਸ ਨੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੌਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੁਕ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਦਿਖਾਈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ। ਉਦੋਂ ਸਟੋਕਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਬਰੂਕਸ ਦੀ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਵਿਰਾਟ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਵਰਗੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੂਕ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸੁਪਰ ਲੀਗ ‘ਚ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਕਲੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਹੈਰੀ ਬਰੂਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ 4 ਟੈਸਟ ਮੈਚਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 480 ਦੌੜਾਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 3 ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਹਨ।
