Vancouver – ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜੋ ਰਿਫ਼ੀਊਜੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਤਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਿਆ। ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਟੀਚਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੇ ਸਾਲ 2021 ਲਈ ਟੀਚਾ ਤਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ 81,000 ਨਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ਼ ‘ਚ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜੋ ਨਵੇਂ ਅੰਕੜੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ ਉਸ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਇਹ ਟੀਚਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਮਿਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ, ਰਿਫ਼ੀਊਜੀਜ਼ ਐਂਡ ਸਿਟਿਜ਼ਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ 31 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਤੱਕ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਧੇ ਰਿਫ਼ੀਉਜੀ ਵੀ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਏ ਹਨ।
ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿਚ 7,800 ਸਰਕਾਰੀ-ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜਦਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ 12,500 ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਮਿੱਥਿਆ ਸੀ। ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਨੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਪੌਂਸਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਰਿਫ਼ੀਊਜੀਆਂ ਦਾ 22,500 ਦਾ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਿਰਫ 4,500 ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸਪੌਂਸਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਰਿਫ਼ੀਊਜੀ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਹਨ। ਇਮਿਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ 32,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਵਿਚ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਫ਼ੈਡਰਲ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ 45,000 ਸ਼ਰਨਾਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਮਿੱਥਾ ਸੀ।
