ਸਟੈਟਿਸਟਿਕਸ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਕੈਨੇਡੀਅਨ ਆਰਥਿਕਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਈ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨੀਜਨਕ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ 88,000 ਨਵੀਆਂ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਹਤ ਨੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਤੋਂ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦੇ ਅਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਫੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੱਕ ਘੱਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਦਰ ਵੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਏਜੰਸੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਹੁਣ ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ ਦਰ ਘਟ ਕੇ 6.6 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ 6.9 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।

ਹੈਲਟਨ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੋ ਵੱਡੇ ਸੰਗਠਿਤ ਗੈਂਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਫੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚਾਰ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਰਜਨਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ‘ਚ ਓਕਵਿਲ ਦੇ ਹੋਟਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਧਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। 27 ਮਈ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਟਲ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਕਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਗੱਡੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਦੋ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਦਬੋਚ ਲਿਆ। ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਜਿਸ ਡੌਜ ਡੁਰੈਂਗੋ ਗੱਡੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਵੀ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਕਲੀ। ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਬਰੈਂਪਟਨ ਦੇ 21 ਸਾਲਾ ਜੋਬਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ 26 ਸਾਲਾ ਆਤਿਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
