ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਆਗੂ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ 80 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ’ਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲੋਕ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਜਪਾ ’ਚ ਰਲੇਵਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਰਜਨਾਂ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਲੀ ’ਚ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਹੈੱਡਕੁਆਰਟਰ ’ਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਰੂਪ ’ਚ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਧਾ ਦਰਜਨ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ’ਚ ਮੁਕਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਬਰਾਡ਼, ਮਹਿਲਾ ਕਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਰਚੰਦ ਕੌਰ, ਭਦੌਡ਼ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਪਿਰਮਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਦਿ ਭਾਜਪਾ ’ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਕਈ ਦਿੱਗਜ ਨੇਤਾ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਕਰੀਬੀ ਸਨ, ਦੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਜਪਾ ’ਚ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਲ਼ੇਵੇਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਜੇ ਤਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਐਲਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਪੁੱਜ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਗਾ ਸ਼ੋਅ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕਈ ਸੀਨੀਆਰ ਆਗੂ ਨਫ਼ਾ-ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਕਰਨ ’ਚ ਜੁਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। 80 ਸਾਲਾ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਰੂਪ ’ਚ ਇਹ ਤੀਜੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। 1980 ’ਚ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ। 1984 ’ਚ ਸਾਕਾ ਨੀਲਾ ਤਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ’ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਲਕਿ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਅਸਤੀਫ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ’ਚ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਸੀ। 1985 ’ਚ ਉਹ ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਬੋ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤੇ। ਬਾਅਦ ’ਚ ਉਹ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ’ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ। 2002 ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ 2007 ਤਕ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਰਹੇ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦੋ ਵਾਰ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ। 2017 ’ਚ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਮੁਡ਼ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ’ਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ’ਚ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਈ। ਸਤੰਬਰ 2021 ’ਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੇ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲੋਕ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦਾ ਗਠਨ ਕੀਤਾ। 2022 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਲਡ਼ੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨੇਤਾ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ। ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਭਾਜਪਾ ’ਚ ਰਲ਼ੇਵਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ 19 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਣਇੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਬੇਟੀ ਜੈਇੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਵੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ ’ਚ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਪ੍ਰਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਭਾਜਪਾ ’ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ।
