ਇਸਲਾਮਾਬਾਦ – ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਮੁਖੀ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਨਰਲ ਅਸੀਮ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਮੁਖੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ । ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਹਬਾਜ਼ ਸ਼ਰੀਫ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ । ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਆਰਮੀ ਚੀਫ਼ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਾਮ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੱਡੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਫੀਆ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਆਈਐਸਆਈ ਦਾ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੁਨੀਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਲੈਣਗੇ। ਬਾਜਵਾ 29 ਨਵੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਟਾਇਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਓਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ PM ਇਮਰਾਨ ਖਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਪਾਸ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਫਰੰਟੀਅਰ ਫੋਰਸ ਰੈਜੀਮੈਂਟ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਥ੍ਰੀ ਸਟਾਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਹਨ। ਜਨਰਲ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਨ। ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਫੌਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਅਹਿਮ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਨਿਭਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਸਾਲ 2018 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ 8 ਮਹੀਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਆਈ.ਐੱਸ.ਆਈ ਦੇ ਚੀਫ ਰਹਿ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਈ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈਆਂ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਈਐਸਆਈ ਦਾ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਰਾਬ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਲਾਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਇਮਰਾਨ ਖ਼ਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਇਸਦੇ ਲਈ ਟੋਕਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਇਮਰਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੜਕਣ ਲੱਗ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਦੱਸ ਦੇਈਏ ਕਿ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਰਲ ਕਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਦ ਬਾਜਵਾ ਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕਈ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਨ। ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਸੀਮ ਮੁਨੀਰ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਾਹਿਰ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ਾਦ ਮਿਰਜ਼ਾ, ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਅਜ਼ਹਰ ਅੱਬਾਸ, ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਨੋਮਾਨ ਮਹਿਮੂਦ, ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਫੈਜ ਹਾਮਿਦ ਤੇ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਆਮਿਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਆਰਮੀ ਚੀਫ਼ ਲਈ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
