ਦੱਖਣੀ ਅਫਰੀਕਾ ਖਿਲਾਫ 5 ਟੀ-20 ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਰਲੈਂਡ ਖਿਲਾਫ 2 ਟੀ-20 ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡਣੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੈਂਚ ਸਟ੍ਰੈਂਥ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਚਣ ਦਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਆਇਰਲੈਂਡ ਦੌਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਕਈ ਨਵੇਂ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਾਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਜੂ ਸੈਮਸਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ IPL 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਚੰਗੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਕਈ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਤਿਓਤੀਆ ਨੇ ਅਣਦੇਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ‘ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਾਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਜ਼ਾਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਦੌਰੇ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਸ਼ਾਅ ਨੇ IPL 2022 ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲਜ਼ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਦੀ ਕਪਤਾਨੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਣਜੀ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਦੇ ਕੁਆਰਟਰ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਮੀਫਾਈਨਲ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਧ ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਲਗਾਏ।
ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ‘ਤੇ, ਦਿੱਲੀ ਕੈਪੀਟਲਜ਼ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਚ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਕੈਫ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਕੈਫ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਾਅ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ‘ਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਖੇਡ ‘ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਟਾਈਮਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕੈਫ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਅ ਬਹੁਤ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ। ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ‘ਚ ਕਈ ਸਲਾਮੀ ਬੱਲੇਬਾਜ਼ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ੁਭਮਨ ਗਿੱਲ ਮਯੰਕ ਅਗਰਵਾਲ ਹੈ, ਕੇਐਲ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਹੈ, ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ, ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਾਅ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਉਹ ਰਣਜੀ ਟਰਾਫੀ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਖੇਡਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਅ ਨੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਵਾਰ ਜੁਲਾਈ 2021 ਵਿੱਚ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਲਈ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਦੋਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਲੰਕਾ ਦੇ ਦੌਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਕੈਫ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ”ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੌੜਾਂ ਬਣਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚਾਹੀਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਜੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਹੁਨਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ‘ਐਕਸ ਫੈਕਟਰ’ ਵੀ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤ ਲਈ ਖੇਡਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ਭਾਰਤ ਕੋਲ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀਰੀਜ਼ ਲਈ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”

ਫਿਲਹਾਲ ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ‘ਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਟੀਮ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਦੌਰੇ ‘ਤੇ ਗਈ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੀ 17 ਮੈਂਬਰੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਰਲੈਂਡ ਦੌਰੇ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਟੀਮ ਦੀ ਕਪਤਾਨੀ ਹਾਰਦਿਕ ਪੰਡਯਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਆਇਰਲੈਂਡ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ 26 ਅਤੇ 28 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਟੀ-20 ਮੈਚ ਖੇਡੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
