ਡੈਸਕ- ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ ਵਿਚ ਪੋਸਟ-ਸਟੱਡੀ ਵਰਕ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਫੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਇਕ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਅੰਕੜੇ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਕਿ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਬਰਤਾਨੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਭੰਗ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਚਾਰ ਫ਼ੀ ਸਜੀ ਦੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾਖਲਾ ਸੇਵਾ (UCAS) ਦੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਲ ਸੰਖਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰਫ 0.7 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਦਾ ਵਾਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਧੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਨਾਈਜੀਰੀਅਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਾਖਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਮੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਚਾਰ ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਘੱਟ ਕੇ 8,770 ‘ਤੇ ਆ ਗਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਈਜੀਰੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਰਜ਼ੀਆਂ 46 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਘੱਟ ਕੇ 1,590 ‘ਤੇ ਆ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਅੰਕੜਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਬਿਨੈਕਾਰ ਚੀਨ, ਤੁਰਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਸਨ। ਜਦਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਈਜੀਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਬਿਨੈਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਕਮੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਕ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਸ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵਲੋਂ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਰੂਟ ਵੀਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਤਹਿਤ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਟੱਡੀ-ਵਰਕ ਵੀਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਕ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਮਾਈਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਲਾਹਕਾਰ ਕਮੇਟੀ (MAC) ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਵੀਜ਼ਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਤਹਿਤ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬ੍ਰਿਟੇਨ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਗ੍ਰਾਂਟ ਦਾ 43 ਫ਼ੀ ਸਦੀ ਸੀ। ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਰਕ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਪੋਸਟ ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਖੋਜ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਸ਼ਰਿਤਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕੀ ਪਰਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਫੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੂਕੇ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ।
