Atlanta- 2020 ਦੀਆਂ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਗੜਬੜੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਡੋਨਾਲਡ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲਾਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਵਧਦੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਚੀਫ਼ ਆਫ਼ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮਾਰਕ ਮੀਡੋਜ਼ ਨੇ ਜਾਰਜੀਆ ’ਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਤਮ ਸਮਪਰਣ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ 100,000 ਡਾਲਰ ਦੇ ਬਾਂਡ ’ਤੇ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ’ਤੇ ਰਿਹਾਅ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਫੁਲਟਨ ਕਾਊਂਟੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਫਾਨੀ ਵਿਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ’ਚ ਟਰੰਪ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ 18 ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀਆਂ ’ਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਏ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 2020 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਲਟਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਜਾਰਜੀਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ’ਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕਿ ਟਰੰਪ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਫਰਕ ਨਾਲ ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਰੀਪਬਲਿਕਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿ ਚੋਣਾਂ ’ਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਜੋਅ ਬਾਇਡਨ ਵਲੋਂ ਘਪਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਟਰੰਪ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ 18 ਸਹਿ-ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਫਾਨੀ ਵਿਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਜਾਰਜੀਆ ਦੇ ਰੈਕੇਟੀਅਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਐਕਟ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰਚਣ, ਝੂਠੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਜਨਤਕ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।
ਦੱਸ ਦਈਏ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ’ਚ ਬੀਤੇ ਕੱਲ੍ਹ ਭਾਵ ਕਿ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਰੂਡੀ ਜਿਉਲਿਆਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਡਨੀ ਪਾਵੇਲ ਨੇ ਆਤਮ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੇਅਰ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 9/11 ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਲਈ ‘ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਮੇਅਰ’ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ’ਚ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ’ਤੇ ਜਾਰਜੀਆ ਦੇ ਰੈਕੇਟੀਅਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਸੰਗਠਨ ਐਕਟ ਤਹਿਤ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਸਿਡਨੀ ਪਾਵੇਲ ’ਤੇ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਾਸ਼ਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ’ਚ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ।
ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਟਲਾਂਟਾ ਲਈ ਉਡਾਣ ਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਿਉਲਿਆਨੀ ਨੇ 150,000 ਡਾਲਰ ਬਾਂਡ ਪੈਕੇਜ ਲਈ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਵੇਲ 100,000 ਡਾਲਰ ਬਾਂਡ ’ਤੇ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
79 ਸਾਲਾ ਜਿਉਲਿਆਨੀ ’ਤੇ ਜਾਰਜੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਰੀਬੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ’ਚ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਜ਼ਰਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਇਲੈਕਟੋਰਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗ਼ੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤੀ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਟਰੰਪ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ।
ਜਿਉਲਿਆਨੀ ’ਤੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਮੰਗਣ, ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰਚਣ ਸਣੇ ਕਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਨ। ਫੁਲਟਨ ਕਾਉਂਟੀ ਦੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਟਾਰਨੀ ਫੈਨੀ ਵਿਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਣ ’ਤੇ ਜਿਉਲਿਆਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਜਿਉਲਿਆਨੀ ਨੇ ਗ਼ਲਤ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਦਲੀਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣ ਧੋਖਾਧੜੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ’ਚ ਸਵਾਲ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਸੀ।
