ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸਾਂਸਦ ਵਸੰਤ ਚਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਦਿਹਾਂਤ, ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਬੀਮਾਰ
ਡੈਸਕ- ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਵਸੰਤ ਰਾਓ ਚਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਚਵਾਨ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ੇਰੇ ਇਲਾਜ ਸੀ। ਇਲਾਜ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਗੜਨ ਲੱਗੀ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੋਮਵਾਰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 4 ਵਜੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ‘ਚ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕਮੇਟੀ (ਐਮਪੀਸੀਸੀ) ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਕਲੀਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਬਲੱਡ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ਼ਰ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਕੁਝ ਸਮਾਂ ਇਲਾਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਡਾਕਟਰ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ‘ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਏਅਰ ਐਂਬੂਲੈਂਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹੈਦਰਾਬਾਦ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਖਰਾਬ ਸਿਹਤ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਸੀਟ ਤੋਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਾਬਕਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਚਵਾਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਡੇ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਛੱਡਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੀਟ ਜਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਚਵਾਨ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਨਤਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ‘ਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਚਵਾਨ ਨਾਈਗਾਂਵ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਸਨ। 2014 ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਈ 2014 ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਲੋਕ ਲੇਖਾ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਚਵਾਨ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 2009 ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਂਦੇੜ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਈਗਾਂਵ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਲਈ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
ਵਸੰਤ ਰਾਓ ਚਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਜੀਵਨ 1978 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਾਈਗਾਓਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਪੰਚ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ। ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ। ਉੱਥੋਂ, ਉਸਨੇ 16 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਦੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਸਦਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵਸੰਤ ਰਾਓ ਨੇ 59 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ 442 ਵੋਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਫਰਕ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਜਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
