ਕਾਊਂਟਰ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਲਗਭਗ 45 ਕਰੋੜ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਸਮਾਰਟਫੋਨ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਲਗਭਗ 50 ਕਰੋੜ ਲੋਕ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਸਮਾਰਟਫੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਂਝੇ ਹਨ। ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਲਾਇੰਸ-ਗੂਗਲ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਰਗੇਟ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਕਾਊਂਟਰ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਰਿਸਰਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਈਡੀਸੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ 4000-5000 ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਸਮਾਰਟਫੋਨ ਲਿਆ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ।
ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸਸਤੇ 5 ਜੀ ਸਮਾਰਟਫੋਨ ਨੂੰ 4 ਜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਲਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਕੁਝ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਇਹ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜਿਓ 5 ਜੀ ਫੋਨ ਦੀ ਕੀਮਤ 2500 ਰੁਪਏ ਤੱਕ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਲੱਖਾਂ ਉਪਭੋਗਤਾ 5 ਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
